Seminar “Informational and Ecological Activity of the Youth”

December 17, 2004 NGO “MAMA-86-Feodosia” within the frames of the project “Green Choice for Ukraine” has been conducted seminar “Informational and Ecological Activity of the Youth”.

59 environmentalists took part in the seminar including the representatives of the following organizations:

• high schools of the Feodosiya and Staryi Krym cities and Kirovs'kyi region;
• three Universities and Institutes of the South-east of Crimea;
• two colleges;
• Society of the veterans of Feodosiya city;
• Department of Education of Autonomic republic of Crimea;
• Feodosiya museum of antiquities;
• NGO "Ecology and World" (Feodosiya branch).

“Informational and ecological activity of the youth”

Participants of the seminar have discussed the presentation of the students and marked the high level professional level of the participants.

Youth is alarmed of the environmental situation and ready to participate in the informational and practical environmental oriented activities.

Considering the importance of the Aarhus Convention, participants of the seminar suggested their ideas regarding the improvement of the ecological situations in the regions.

It is needed , first of all , from the passive methods of receiving the ecological information move to the active methods of obtaining the environmental information including the appeals to the governmental bodies.

Participants of the seminar suggested:

• to conduct during the first half of the 2005 year trainings and seminars to teach young activists the methods of the dissemination of ecological information with the involvement of the experts: professional journalists of Mass media ;
• to organize at schools , colleges , universities the ecological groups for the conducting systematic informational - ecological education among youth ;
• to conduct a meeting for the experience exchange in the field of informational-education activity ;
• with the support of the education department of the Feodossiya city organize the conference “System of the continuous environmental education”.
